We’re at Canyon Village right now, and with Internet connections being nonexistent most of the places we’ve been since we arrived at Yellowstone, I figure I take this opportunity to make a quick post.
Using the phone to tether to the computer doesn’t work. As I dictate this, my niece Megan says, “Off the grid? Off the grid is way over there, and we’re here.“ she is correct.
We’re having a great time. Overall, the weather has been excellent. The days have been hard, but it’s cooled off very nicely at night. Last night it was 58. I did not turn the heat on. The girls were very happy, I’m still trying to make up my mind. The good news is, that we have plenty of propane on board, so we don’t have to look for someplace in the middle of the park to refuel.

The place is crawling with foreign tourists. The Japanese, and Chinese seem to stand out the most, probably because of their race, and the clothing they wear. Their outfits are definitely from Japan, not from Sears.
This means, the driving is a special circumstance. People see a buffalo, or an elk slam on the brakes hop out of the car, and leave the car in the middle of the road. They drive on the left side of the road in Japan, so that adds a little interest when there’s congestion. Everyone, is very polite, and no one seems to beat their horn, which is pleasant.
I haven’t plugged the RV in since we’ve visited friends in shell Wyoming. We haven’t really missed. Being connected by either phone, or Internet is much more important now than it has been during any other previous trip. Radio stations don’t seem to carry the news, and there are no newspapers available any place we’ve been.
Everyone’s having a great time, and we’re bound for more adventure today. I’ll write again soon.
